As President and Founder of Mid-Atlantic Inspection Services, Alan brings more than 20 years' residential and commercial contracting experience to the area's commercial and residential inspection services company of choice.
Before deciding to leverage his extensive contracting and construction experience to the field of inspection services, Alan owned a residential remodeling and construction company. He also cultivated knowledge of large-scale commercial projects and zoning regulations as a Partner of SAAZ Brewing Equipment and Services. A national leader in the craft brewing industry, SAAZ designed. fabricated and installed custom brewing equipment.
Alan is a Maryland Home Improvement Commission Licensed Contractor, an International Code Council Certified Residential Building Inspector, and an Indoor Environmental Standards Organization Certified Residential Mold Inspector. He is a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), the Maryland Commission of Real Estate Appraisers and Home Inspectors, and an affiliate member of the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS.
Alan's family moved to Kensington in 1973 and then to Chevy Chase DC where he attended Blessed Sacrament and Gonzaga. While in high school he met his wife and business partner Susan Gray. Nearly thirty years later, Alan and Susan live with their two children in the Bethesda home they designed and built. They are members of St Columba's Church, where Alan serves on the Vestry and Buildings & Grounds Committee.
Alan has a diploma in Brewing Sciences from the Siebel Institute of Technology and earned his bachelor's degree in History from St. John's University in Minnesota.
